Executive Order 13518 established an Interagency Council on Veterans Employment (Council), to be co-chaired by the Secretaries of Labor and Veterans Affairs with the Director of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) serving as Vice Chair of the Council. The leadership of the Council advise and assist the President and the Director of OPM in establishing a coordinated Government-wide effort to enhance employment opportunities for veterans through refined recruitment and training efforts and serve as a national forum for promoting veterans' employment opportunities in the Executive Branch.
Co-chaired by the Secretaries of Labor and Veterans Affairs with the Director of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) serving as Vice Chair of the Council, the Council on Veterans Employment advises and assist the President on improving employment opportunities for veterans in the Federal Government.
The Veteran Employment Report, produced annually by OPM, provides useful data on the employment of veterans within the Federal Executive Branch.
