Throughout the Treasury and its bureaus, our employees work in more than 250 types of jobs. Although Treasury employees can include accountants, economists, revenue agents, and financial analysts, there are a host of other professional and exciting job opportunities.

Some exciting job opportunities throughout the bureaus may include:  Chemists, who modify the Bureau of Engraving and Printing’s currency and document production processes. Information technology specialists develop electronic solutions for data processed by the Bureau of Fiscal Service. Criminal investigators at the Office of Inspector General prevent and detect fraud and abuse. Marketing specialists promote commemorative coins for the United States Mint.

The Department of the Treasury is organized into two major components:

  • Departmental Offices are primarily responsible for the Treasury’s formulation of policy and overall management.
  • Treasury Bureaus make up 98% of the Treasury work force and are responsible for carrying out specific operations assigned to Treasury.
