I transitioned from the Marine Corps after 28-years of services as the Director of the Marine Corps War College, a graduate-level national security program for senior-level military officers and government officials. Interested in expanding my horizons, I accepted a prestigious position as the Vice President for Defense Strategy and Operations for a commercial IT services and solutions firm. Soon after joining, I learned that the private sector lacked the leadership, common purpose, and camaraderie, I enjoyed in the military. After two years of trying diligently to adapt and simply accept, I quit. Perplexed by what to do next, I scanned my bookshelf in search of an answer. In the titles I found my passions. Enlightened, I sat at my computer and typed into the search engine: Executive, Education, and Leadership. In the results, I discovered OPM's Federal Executive Institute (FEI). As a FEI faculty member I leverage my military expertise and experience on a daily basis to advance the leadership development of senior-level government executives. I am afforded an enviable and unsurpassed opportunity to inspire and instruct Federal executives to transform themselves, their organizations, our government and the world.
