My story begins being a homeless veteran who had recurring conditions. I sought services through the VA in attempt to get my life back together. While striving for independence and a career, I started with a Work-Study program for the VA at Ernest Childers Outpatient Clinic, in Tulsa, OK. I was later selected as a Pathway Intern which gave me a better hands-on opportunity to learn and train. I went back to college and in a four year span completed two associate degrees, a bachelor's degree and a masters degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling. Even though I am not currently working in that field, the VA gave me my second chance on life, and I am eternally grateful for that opportunity.
