The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Telecommunications and Information Administration is seeking to fill a Secretary/Executive Assistant position at the Grade ZS-5 (GS-9/10). The position will be located in Reston,Virginia.  Relocation support will not be authorized.

Position Description:

This position reports to the Office Director but will also interact with senior level management.  Serves as the principal clerical assistant to the Director.  Preforms general office work, principle office administrative support and operates independently of any other such position in the office.

We are looking for highly organized individuals with an attention to detail; an interest in and/or familiarity with Congress and the legislative process; and comfort and facility with spreadsheets, databases, or other software to organize and present information.

Qualifications for ZS-5 (GS-9/10):

You must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the ZS-4 (GS-7/8) grade level in the Federal service that equipped you with the specialized experience needed to perform the job duties listed above.  Examples include serving as a secretary/executive assistant to the head or deputy of a major organization or operating unit.  Knowledge of secretarial functions, ability to manage the immediate office, and ability to guide and coordinate the work of subordinate secretaries; ability to carry out exceptionally difficult assignments involving unrelated areas of subject matter; ability to analyze unusual circumstances, variations in approach, and incomplete or conflicting information in deciding what needs to be done.
