The USDA, Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is currently hiring qualified candidates for the positions in Washington, DC and Dallas, Texas in the following occupations.
Senior Data Analyst GS-13/14 ($92,145 - $141,555) – Washington, DC
This position is located in the Data Analysis and Integration Staff (DAIS), Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). The DAIS is responsible for coordinating the Agency's data collection, analysis, and integration activities across all program areas. The DAIS is responsible for evaluating individual FSIS data streams, ensuring data analyses are consistent and of high quality, and conducting data analyses to inform Agency decisions; in addition to processing ad hoc and Freedom of Information Act data requests.
Public Affairs Specialist/Driver GS-9/12 ($53,435 - $100,736) – Washington, DC
This position is located in the Food Safety Education Staff (FSES), Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). The Food Safety Education Staff conducts the Agency’s consumer education programs to effectively communicate with the public, media, other Government agencies and internal audiences about FSIS consumer food safety, including education programs and activities developed by the agency to promote safe food handling behavior. This position is associated with the USDA Food Safety Discovery Zone (FSDZ), a mobile food safety education exhibit which travels nationwide. The position is classified primarily as a Public Affairs Specialist, but is also responsible for driving the Discovery Zone vehicle and trailer. This position requires the selectee to obtain or possess a Class B Commercial Driver's License, with air brakes (CDL) and therefore, is a Drug and Alcohol Testing Designated Position (TDP). If the person selected for the position does not currently occupy a Drug and Alcohol Testing Designated Position, he/she will be required to submit to and receive a negative test result prior to appointment. A positive drug or alcohol test result may be grounds for denying final placement into this position. In addition, the Act mandates that the incumbent will be subject to random drug or alcohol testing.
Resource Management Assistant GS-5/7 ($34,208 - $55,088) - Dallas, TX
This position is located in the Dallas District Office, Office of Field Operations, Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Dallas, TX.
The District Office is responsible for the overall management of an inspection and enforcement program involving meat, poultry, and egg products in several states. You would be providing clerical and technical assistance to the Resource Manager and Resource Management Specialists, or other district office personnel. This position is an excellent opportunity for those who are interested in utilizing their experience to help protect public health!
